FatWallet, one of the top online coupon and shopping resources for consumers, wanted to give their users an app with the latest online sales and in-store deals, coupons, promo codes, and other tips added by FatWallet’s experts and community. Users can rank deals, share tips for fellow shoppers and quickly scroll through a list of similar deals. The app also provides an extensive list of stores and an option to tag specific stores as favorites (with push notifications when a favorite store has new deals and coupons). And last but certainly not least, the app allows users to browse dozens of interactive major store ads page by page during Black Friday, Thanksgiving Day, and Cyber Monday.
What did we do?
We completely renovated the FatWallet Black Friday app and concurrently created the Deal Hunter app for consumers to find great deals and sales year-round. The goal for both apps was to present deal content in a clear yet engaging way, with the deal feed presented front and center, and an easy-to-read grid layout for users’ favorite stores. For both apps, we added extra delight for users by implementing a simple swiping mechanic for deal ratings (right for thumbs up, left for thumbs down), and highlighting tappable areas on ad scans to drill into the specifics of deals.
