The Shopkick app rewards users for walking into partner stores such as Target, Macy’s, Old Navy, Crate & Barrel, and Best Buy. Scanning items upon purchase earns shoppers more points or “kicks”. Shoppers can then redeem their “kicks” for gift cards, iTunes downloads, free items, and even trips. Well implemented features and a cutting edge design keeps this mobile app a pleasure to navigate while earning rewards.
What did we do?
Two Toasters collaborated with Shopkick to develop certain key features and screens as part of their 3.0 release. Using the Shopkick team's designs we worked to build the "Out and About" experience for users to use on shopping trips.
This features a really unique "map" which uses relative location to group stores into districts so users can easily plan a shopping trip based on the shopping centers and malls they will go to rather than looking at hundreds of individual stores dispersed on a map. To help reinforce the metaphor of the map, it animates in as a folded map from the bottom of the screen. Tapping on the map brings up the details on a district or store, helping the user pick out which stores give certain types of rewards and then revealing to them the products they marked as a favorite for that store.
We really enjoyed working with the very talented team of designers and developers at Shopkick to make shopping better.
